The UWM Distinguished Lecture Series and Tommy G. Thompson Center on Public Leadership presents: An Evening with Paul Ryan
Join us for an evening with Paul Ryan, as he shares his reflections on leadership in the U.S. House of Representatives. Ryan will also offer his insights on the fiscal and economic challenges in this country.
Paul Ryan has over two decades of experience in national political leadership representing Wisconsin’s First District. During his tenure as Speaker of the House, Ryan led efforts to make changes affecting the tax code, national defense, domestic energy production, the opioid epidemic, and the criminal justice system.
Currently, Paul Ryan serves as a Professor of the Practice at the University of Notre Dame, he is a visiting fellow in the practice of public policy at the American Enterprise Institute, he serves on the Board of Trustees of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Center for Strategic and International Studies. His most recent book, American Renewal: A Plan to Strengthen the Social Contract and Save the Country’s Finances, offers policy solutions to stabilize our national debt, modernize our social safety net, revitalize our economy, and restore the promise of upward mobility.
A sign language interpreter will be provided.
This event is free and open to the public. A ticket is required for entrance.
