Meet the panelists:

Michael Baselice
Michael Baselice (pronounced bass-uh-lease) is President and CEO of Baselice & Associates, Inc., a survey research firm which conducts opinion polling for decision making in politics and public affairs. While Baselice specializes in consulting for Republican candidate races, he has extensive experience in corporate and issue/referendum projects throughout the United States. Since it was founded in 1997, Baselice & Associates, Inc. has conducted over 3,200 survey projects.
He has conducted polling for every statewide office in Texas from governor to state supreme court. Clients have included Secretary of Energy and former Texas Governor Rick Perry, Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, members of congress, and dozens of state senators and house members across the state of Texas and the nation. In 2016, Baselice & Associates, Inc. joined the Trump/Pence campaign where we conducted polling in critical battleground states. In 2019, Baselice & Associates, Inc. moved from the Trump/Pence re-election to America First Policies / Action, a pro-Trump Super PAC. It has also conducted polling on education reform and/or for charter school groups in Illinois, Louisiana, Tennessee and Texas.
Michael has also conducted detailed opinion research to determine the most persuasive and creative messaging for a variety of issues, including transportation and tollway issues as well as the Don’t Mess with Texas anti-litter campaign. Michael has also conducted research on numerous issues including, tort reform, water conservation, medical liability caps on non-economic damages, judicial selection, and school finance reform. In addition, Michael has assisted organizations such as Texans for Lawsuit Reform, Western States Petroleum Association, Texas Association of Business, and San Antonio Spurs and Sports Entertainment with specific legislative, issue and image research. Michael has testified as an expert witness on the subject of public opinion as well as on election results in Texas.
Prior to starting his own company in January of 1997, Michael managed the Houston office for The Tarrance Group where he worked for seven years and personally coordinated over 350 survey projects. Prior to joining The Tarrance Group, Michael was a Research Analyst for the National Republican Congressional Committee during the 1988 campaign cycle and conducted opposition research and targeting projects for key congressional campaigns.
Michael received his B.S. cum laude in Commerce and Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. Michael and his wife Julie have three children, and reside in Austin, Texas.

Pete Brodnitz
Pete Brodnitz is founder and President of Expedition Strategies. Pete brings decades of strategic research experience to his clients, which includes thirteen presidents and prime ministers on four continents, U.S. domestic political leaders at all levels, Fortune 500 companies, and leading advocacy and nonprofit institutions.
Pete maintains strong, decades-long relationships with his clients. Many of his political clients have worked with Pete as they successfully ran for a variety of subsequent offices. Pete has also worked with major corporations on multi-country marketing studies, branding, video game development, and a variety of projects related to the intersection of public policy and commerce.
In the advocacy and nonprofit sector, Pete has worked with leading organizations that have sought to change public attitudes on public policy challenges such as national security, immigration, civil rights, food security, gun safety and health care.
The American Association of Political Consultants has named Pete “Pollster of the Year”—the top honor in the U.S. political polling profession. The award honored Pete for his work developing strategies that helped turn Virginia into a political battleground state. In 2013 he was awarded a Gold Pollie Award for innovative research techniques he developed during the 2012 elections related to the use of voter modeling and the use of a form of ad testing that captures emotional responses.
Pete received an M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communication after earning his B.A. in Government from Clark University. He regularly lectures on how behavioral economics concepts can be used to craft effective campaign messages.

Stefan Hankin
Stefan Hankin is the Founder and President of Lincoln Park Strategies. Stefan has more than two decades of experience in market research, data analytics, communications strategy, and public opinion polling and analysis for clients that range from America’s Promise to the City of Los Angeles to Raytheon to the Southern Environmental Law Center.
Stefan began his research career at the National Association of Home Builders Research Center and honed his skills in qualitative and quantitative research skills at Peter D Hart Research, Widmeyer Communications, and brilliant corners Research. During his career, he was part of the polling team that helped Barack Obama become the 44th President of the United States, and has led research projects in more than 25 countries and all 50 states (and two U.S. territories). In the 2020 cycle, he was the pollster of record for Senator Cory Booker’s presidential campaign.
Since founding Lincoln Park Strategies, Stefan has put data into action for Fortune 500 companies, foundations, national non-profits, local governments, as well as political candidates at the federal and state level. As someone who is never comfortable reaffirming the status quo, Stefan works to innovate the way data is used regardless of the size of an organization or the scope of the project. In addition to founding Lincoln Park Strategies, he is also the co-founder of Trendency Research (a dynamic audience engagement and research platform).
Stefan’s research and analysis has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, USA Today, and the Christian Science Monitor as well as political outlets such as Politico and National Journal. He has also appeared on numerous radio and TV programs including ABC News, C-SPAN, and CTV in Canada discussing his research and opinions.
A native of the Boston area, Stefan received his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and now resides with his wife and two daughters in Washington, DC. He is a recovering rugby player, old-man hockey player, and an aspiring ski bum. He also serves on the board of the Washington Literacy Center.

Chris Perkins
Chris Perkins is a Partner at Ragnar Research Partners. Perkins is an expert in quantitative and qualitative analysis. He’s considered one of the most accurate pollsters and top public opinion experts in the United States. Since 2010, Perkins has polled for nearly one hundred winning Republican candidates for Governor, U.S. Senate, U.S. Congress, and a variety of other offices. Perkins has also been a key resource for numerous organizations tackling public policy issues, including Fortune 500s, trade associations, and non-profit organizations.
When he’s not wading through petabytes of data, Perkins can usually be found at one of his kid’s baseball games, hosting friends to some of the best block parties in Austin, or explaining the virtues of Austin barbecue to the uninitiated. And rest assured, while Perkins barbecue is never over seasoned, his highly detailed memory or every campaign he’s ever touched intimidates even his most seasoned employees.

Blake Reynolds
Blake Reynolds is the Chief Technology Officer at Murphy Nasica & Associates, where he provides clients with the underlying data and infrastructure needed to reach the correct individuals to win their election or achieve the desired change in public sentiment. With over a decade of experience building the industry’s leading forecasting models, creating novel methodologies, and cleanly providing data-on-demand, Blake gives MNA the ability to be outside the targeting of its competition and efficiently move public opinion without needing to involve outside data vendors.
Blake is the head of MNA’s data, modeling, and analytics operation, as well as oversees the acquisition and internal development of MNA’s proprietary software. Blake has overseen and developed MNA’s mobile canvassing application Trireme, early voting analysis application, canvassing and sentiment analysis applications, and extensive national voter database and modeling projects. Blake, alongside Ross Hunt, also maintains MNA’s internal polling firm that provides scientific opinion research to MNA’s clients, partner consultants, PACs, and corporate interests nationwide.
Blake lives with his family in Dallas and enjoys movies, golf, and music. He can be found mostly working on various academic projects in his free time. Blake holds a B.A. from the University of Texas at Dallas, an M.A. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and is a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
