
Speech is Powerful: A Conversation with Megan Phelps-Roper

As a former member of the Westboro Baptist Church, Megan Phelps-Roper became deradicalized through conversations with her supposed “enemies” online. Since then, she has become an advocate for speaking to people with whome we disagree and of the possibilities for redemption. Her TED Talk has been viewed over 6 million times, and she is the author of the 2019 book, Unfollow: A Memoir of Loving and Leaving Extremism.
