The Thompson Center and the UW–Madison Center for European Studies hosted a virtual event on the connection between higher education and economic development. This event discussed the economic impact of the university, challenges in improving the connection of higher education and economic development, and possible leadership solutions.

Panelists include:

  • Emanuela Todeva, Acting President of the Triple Helix Association, Director of the Research Centre for Business Clusters, Networks & Economic Development
  • Anna Valero, Senior Policy Fellow of the Centre for Economic Performance, Deputy Director of the Programme on Innovation & Diffusion, and Associate of the Grantham Research Institute

John Ohnesorge, George Young Bascom Professor of Law at the University of Wisconsin Law School and Thompson Center Faculty Advisory Committee member, moderated the event.
